ACC PLUS Activated Charcoal Cloth (ACC) Wound Dressing with Zorflex® is a proven sterile wound dressing that both captures microbes that prolong wound healing, and also helps to control wound odor that can become almost intolerable otherwise.
10 INDIVIDUALLY SEALED 4in. x 4in. (10cm x 10cm) ACTIVATED CHARCOAL CLOTH WOUND DRESSINGS, enclosed within a porous nylon outer sleeve.
The Zorflex® cloth fibers capture a broad range of microbes and their endotoxins.
As well as possessing antimicrobial properties, the Zorflex ACC cloth also enables the wound to heal due to its naturally permeable properties which enhance the breathability of the cloth.
The natural electrical properties of Zorflex in ACC PLUS bind both toxins, gases and odors to its surface. The ability to both adsorb and desorb makes it ideal for odor control.
Due to its microporous structure, Zorflex activated carbon cloth has an extremely large surface area. To put its capabilities into perspective, just 1g of Zorflex activated carbon cloth has the surface area of over half the size of a football field. This, combined with the strong electrostatic forces within the cloth, enables the cloth to be highly efficient at adsorbing both liquids and gases. Exudate is allowed to flow freely through to a secondary absorbent dressing; the outer nylon sleeve facilitates removal; with minimal adherence to the wound.
As a primary wound dressing, applications include most skin ulcers, discharging and venous ulcers, infected wounds, weeping abscesses, biopsy sites, exuding dermatoses, fistulae and stomas. It can also be used with burn patients in preparation for skin grafting. As a secondary dressing, ACC+ can easily be used for control of malodor commonly associated with gangrene.
