Activated Charcoal Tablets

Activated Charcoal for medicinal uses comes in four forms: tablets, capsules, powder, and suspensions. While activated charcoal powder is by far the most effective choice, charcoal tablets and charcoal capsules are frequently used because of their ease of transport.

Whether one is hoping in the car to go out to dine for the evening, or packing to go on an overseas vacation Activated Charcoal Tablets should be one item you will always want to take with you. In the glove compartment, in the purse or in the carry on bag, it will be there in case of indigestion from some food reaction, or the feeling of airsickness and nausea.

Body Cleanse & Detox
Activated charcoal tablets are about 25% binders, which make them about 50% effective as pure charcoal powder. Charcoal tablets are completely SAFE and can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The body does not digest charcoal and therefore it is not assimilated into the bloodstream. The charcoal simply passes through the GI (gastrointestinal) tract picking up toxins and generally cleansing and detoxifying the body. Body wastes in the blood are also adsorbed from the tiny blood vessels in the GI tract into the charcoal in the gut and are eliminated together.

Indigestion & Heartburn
While activated charcoal tablets can be chewed and swallowed for relief of indigestion, heartburn, stomach gas, and flatulence, they are also a very effective remedy for sore teeth and gums. For an abscessed tooth many have found relief from pain by tucking activated charcoal tablets between the offending tooth and the cheek. For a sore throat, for gingivitis, many simply suck on a charcoal tablet and are amazed at its soothing cleansing effect.

Activated Charcoal Pills for Bad Breath and Stained Teeth
Others have discovered what was a common practice in centuries past – charcoal is a brightening dentifrice. Simply take a charcoal tablet, moisten your toothbrush, and gently brush the wet charcoal tablet and then your teeth as you would with toothpaste. Rinse your mouth well when done. Charcoal will remove tobacco and other tuff stains with time, and it leaves the mouth tasting and smelling fresher and cleaner. As for
bad breath (halitosis), just suck on a charcoal pill. Too simple? Why not try some charcoal tablets today!

Poison Antidote
Our Activated Charcoal Tablets are made from USP (US Pharmacopoeia) Food Grade activated charcoal from coconut shells - the same kind of charcoal that is used in hospitals around the world for accidental poisoning, food poisoning, and drug overdose. If doctors and hospitals around the world use it every day, if the Poison Control Centers recommend it, then don’t you think it is time to follow their advice and have some in your medicine cabinet – just in case?

Transit Time
Yes, charcoal will turn your stools black. Not to worry. Some people use charcoal to check their transit time – the length of time between eating a meal and when the waste is eliminated from the body (the last you see of any black stool). People who eat sufficient fiber in their diet, keep well hydrated, and get some form of exercise every day often report a transit time of less than 36 hours, although 36-48 hrs. is more the norm.

Activated charcoal does not discriminate among poisons so remember, if taken too close to medication times, charcoal most likely will adsorb the drug poisons to a greater or lesser degree. Unless one is taking activated charcoal to diminish the effects of drug poisons (ie. overdose or cleansing/detox programs) give yourself a 1-2 charcoal-free hour around your time of medication.

Ingredients: activated charcoal, acacia gum, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate.
